Born and bred in Waihi, Tony started his Butchery apprenticeship at the age of 15. Tony understands the importance of an even family work balance and outside of Smith’s Meat Company, enjoys spending time with his young family. With a passion for the outdoors, Tony is an avid fisherman and hunter with no shortage of epic hunting stories.
Tony leads by example with a work ethic second to none. Tony has a clear vision of what direction the company is to travel and with decades of industry experience, knows that his employees play a critical role in that vision. A consistent presence within the business, Tony always makes himself available for both employees and customers.

On the back of consistent growth experienced over the last few years, a corporate restructure saw the addition of a General Manger, Wayne Kelsall in 2017. With a passion for spreadsheets and procedures, Wayne is armoured with the skillset required to ensure that company systems and procedures are robust and streamlined.
Wayne is focused on ensuring Smith’s Meat company’s culture is centred around continuous improvement and importantly continues to provide an exceptional customer experience.
